About the role
We are seeking a skilled Body Shop Painter to join our team at Dealers Auto Auction of OKC. This role is responsible for preparing and painting vehicles to restore them to pre-damage condition, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet industry and auction standards.
Responsibilities
- Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Prepare vehicles for painting by sanding, masking, and priming surfaces.
- Mix and match paint colors to achieve an exact match to OEM specifications.
- Apply paint using spray guns and other industry-standard tools.
- Perform touch-ups and buffing to ensure a flawless finish.
- Inspect painted surfaces for quality control and make necessary adjustments.
- Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Follow all safety protocols and comply with OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Collaborate with body shop technicians and auction staff to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Proven experience as an automotive painter, preferably in a body shop or auction setting.
- Knowledge of automotive paint application techniques, including HVLP spray systems.
- Ability to color-match and blend paint seamlessly.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in finishing work.
- Familiarity with industry-standard safety regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience working in an auto auction or high-volume body shop.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work with chemicals safely.
