Body Shop Manager

About the role

The Manager, Reconditioning Service oversees vehicle repair and painting to meet quality standards and customer requirements. They manage purchasing, maintenance, and development of shop staff through recruiting, training, and educational opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates and monitor staffing levels
• Enforce policies and ensure quality control
• Communicate reconditioning goals and lead mechanics in inspections, repairs, and diagnostics
• Manage vendor partnerships and ensure compliance with environmental regulations
• Evaluate employee performance and oversee billing
• Foster a respectful team environment

Requirements

• BA/BS degree and 7+ years of relevant experience, or 11+ years without a degree
• At least 1 year in a management or lead role
• Strong communication, management, and organizational skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift 1–30 pounds

Qualifications

Preferred certifications include ASE, OEM, or industry-specific credentials.
