Body Shop Manager
Job Overview
The Body Shop Manager at Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Body Shop to meet growth and profit objectives. Key responsibilities include formulating objectives, evaluating performance, ensuring safety, and managing customer relationships.
Essential Functions
- Evaluates the department’s results and performance against objectives.
- Maintains high quality standards in serving customers and identifying their needs.
- Affirms present and future needs, trends, problems, and profit opportunities of the Body Shop.
- Formulates annual and monthly sales/profit objectives and expense budgets in line with company goals.
- Reviews and appraises the results of activities within the department and takes necessary actions.
- Maintains effective communication within and between all departments within the branch.
- Promotes safe work habits and ensures adherence to safety rules.
- Sells customer repair and body shop labor, directly contacting customers for their repair work.
- Writes estimates on all wrecks, both locally and out-of-town, if necessary.
- Maintains company service tools and equipment and ensures proper usage.
- Reviews all Body Shop repair orders to ensure completeness and alignment with original estimates and any supplements.
- Develops positive relationships with customers, adjusters, and insurance companies.
Qualifications
- CDL preferred.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in body shop related fields.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Excellent management and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork and employee development.
