Shift

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm

Job Purpose

The Body Shop Manager is responsible for managing the Body Shop Associates and assisting with performing major repairs from start to finish on damaged vehicles, including mechanical repairs, body panel replacement or repair, refinishing of repaired areas and prep for delivery to customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Scheduling & assigning work to body shop Associates, demonstrating a commitment to efficient workflow and timely service.
  • Provide effective communication to customers regarding their job orders by preparing estimates for repair work and parts; monitor job schedules to ensure timeliness of repairs and job pricing, fulfilling commitments to transparency and customer satisfaction.
  • Aid with invoicing and collecting procedures, supporting accurate and timely financial processing.
  • Create positive experiences by documenting and diagnosing necessary repairs by taking photographs, providing clear and visual documentation to support repair assessments. Work closely with customers and insurance companies to obtain necessary authorization and documentation relating to repair work, facilitating a smooth and hassle-free experience for customers.
  • Promote and sell Body Shop services, engaging with customers proactively and offering solutions to their needs.
  • Foster life-long learning by continuously improving knowledge of vehicle systems, parts, and repair processes to enhance diagnostic and estimation accuracy. Stay updated on industry best practices, new technologies, and insurance procedures to ensure accurate and efficient service. Seek opportunities to expand skills in customer service, communication, and sales techniques to enhance interactions with customers and promote body shop services effectively.
  • Exhibit pioneering spirit by identifying opportunities to streamline processes within the body shop to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction. Proactively address challenges and implement solutions to optimize body shop operations. Suggest new tools, technologies, or training programs that could enhance the quality and efficiency of body shop repairs.
  • Demonstrate good stewardship by assisting with maintaining inventory of parts, paint and materials necessary for repair functions, contributing to efficient resource management. Accurately track and manage repair costs, labor hours, and materials used to ensure profitability and responsible financial management. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment for all body shop personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned, adapting to the evolving needs of the organization and undertaking additional responsibilities as required, reflecting our commitment to flexibility and responsiveness in meeting business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with additional trade school or college education preferred.
  • Mechanical and refinishing knowledge required with five years of related experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • ASE, Dupont or other certification required.
  • Dependable and reliable attendance required.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required, a CDL is preferred.

Medical Safety Compliance

Must successfully pass a baseline medical evaluation and a respiratory fit test (per OSHA standards) to ensure the safe use of required personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to maintain a clean-shaven face where the respirator seals to the skin to ensure a proper fit during daily operations.
