Body Shop Foreman

Responsibilities

• Review work in progress.
• Communicate with other departments, service write, Navistar, and customers to address any questions about work in progress.
• Maintain good communications with parts department as to parts order status.
• Communicate any service related needs to the customer.
• Communicate with the Service Manager any discipline or employee problems.
• Conduct the flow of all work.
• Navigate and maintain access to Navistar and vendor secure web sites.
• Review and sign off on all completed work orders, noting technicians' comments, technician sign-off, repair completion, and road test completion.
• Ensure all allotted time is posted on repair orders before closing.
• Participate in month-end closing.
• Ensure and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Stay updated on all federal, state, and local regulations regarding hazardous waste disposal.
• Ensure employees understand emergency plans for hazardous waste spills.
• Prepare quotes on repair jobs and complicated installation projects.
• Prepare estimates and quotes on the phone.
• Make frequent calls on customers as required.
• Ensure proper training is conducted for all employees.
• Ensure hazardous material is stored and discarded properly.
• Ensure proper estimates are provided to insurance adjusters.
• Complete accurate work orders for billing.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills required to interact with customers, employees, and co-workers.
• Ability to work and learn independently.
• Ability to use various computer software. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Training in Body Shop and estimating preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of the trucking industry and collision repair.
• Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in the trucking/transportation/Body industry.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Commercial Valid Driver’s license required.
