Responsibilities
- Review work in progress.
- Communicate with other departments, service write, Navistar, and customers to address any questions about work in progress.
- Maintain good communications with parts department as to parts order status.
- Communicate any service related needs to the customer.
- Communicate with the Service Manager any discipline or employee problems.
- Conduct the flow of all work.
- Navigate and maintain access to Navistar and vendor secure web sites.
- Review and sign off on all completed work orders, noting technicians' comments, technician sign-off, repair completion, and road test completion.
- Ensure all allotted time is posted on repair orders before closing.
- Participate in month-end closing.
- Ensure and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Stay updated on all federal, state, and local regulations regarding hazardous waste disposal.
- Ensure employees understand emergency plans for hazardous waste spills.
- Prepare quotes on repair jobs and complicated installation projects.
- Prepare estimates and quotes on the phone.
- Make frequent calls on customers as required.
- Ensure proper training is conducted for all employees.
- Ensure hazardous material is stored and discarded properly.
- Ensure proper estimates are provided to insurance adjusters.
- Complete accurate work orders for billing.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required to interact with customers, employees, and co-workers.
- Ability to work and learn independently.
- Ability to use various computer software. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Training in Body Shop and estimating preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of the trucking industry and collision repair.
- Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in the trucking/transportation/Body industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Commercial Valid Driver’s license required.
