USD $23.62/Hr. – The Body Care Manager oversees the successful operation and profitability of the Body Care department, trains and directs staff, and fulfills Manager on Duty (MOD) responsibilities on a scheduled basis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide world-class customer service as the top priority.
  • Exemplify integrity, responsibility, and excellence while adhering to all policies.
  • Create an inviting, fully stocked, and shoppable department.
  • Order products for the Body Care department and maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Manage department profitability, including minimizing shrink and maximizing effective purchasing.
  • Ensure all in-stock products meet company standards.
  • Offer and follow up on special orders.
  • Merchandise shelves, endcaps, and dynamic displays.
  • Manage and participate in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock.
  • Train and monitor department personnel, including assigning and following up on tasks.
  • Work with other department managers to cross-train staff.
  • Conduct active and passive product demonstrations.
  • Assist in interviewing and hiring for department needs.
  • Work with the store manager to address performance and disciplinary issues.
  • Open and close the store, including DSR and closing cash processes.
  • Handle register functions, including backup cashiering, managing returns, addressing complaints, and covering shift changes.
  • Maintain the safety and security of customers and employees.
  • Manage business disruptions such as loiterers, solicitation, emergencies, or bathroom misuse.
  • Answer customer questions per company standards, including Structure/Function statements.
  • Continually increase product knowledge.
  • Use SAP, inventory management software, BEx reports, and other IS programs as needed.
  • Work a flexible schedule based on store needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Work five days per week, 40 hours total, and attend mandatory store meetings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1-2 years of retail experience in a grocery or natural foods environment (preferred).
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience (preferred).
  • Ability to pass and maintain food safety training/certifications as required by law.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and stay focused on tasks.
  • Strong sense of urgency in completing tasks.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to take direction and follow through.
  • Cashier trained and able to count currency.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Capabilities and Environmental Demands

Physical Requirements:

  • Constantly lift or carry up to 10 lbs.
  • Frequently lift or carry 11-20 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift or carry 21-50 lbs. (and 51-100 lbs. with a team lift).
  • Frequently push or pull up to 15 lbs. and occasionally push or pull 16-100 lbs.
  • Constantly walk, stand, use fine motor manipulations, grip, bend, twist, turn, and reach outward for the duration of the shift.
  • Frequently reach above chest level.
  • Occasionally sit, squat, kneel, climb, and use a computer for data entry.

Environmental Requirements:

  • Frequently work with sharp tools, dust, fumes, and congested worksites.
  • Occasionally work with noise, cold, heat, humidity, outside conditions, heights, and contact stress.
