About the role
Kettle Marine is a family-owned dealership serving the Milwaukee, WI area. We are an authorized boat dealer for various brands including Alumacraft, Campion, MirroCraft, Tahoe Pontoons, Premier Pontoon, Angler Qwest, and outboard motor dealers for Mercury Marine, Yamaha Marine, and ShoreLand'r.
Responsibilities
- Prepare written estimates for service work and parts.
- Serve as the liaison between customers, manufacturer, and employees.
- Write service orders and maintain control until closed and invoiced.
- Prioritize service work schedule appropriately with available hours in the shop.
- Track job status and progress.
- Communicate proactively with customers and employees on work progress.
- Dispatch tickets to appropriate technicians.
- Create and update work orders with proper documentation.
- Perform walk-arounds on boats with customers.
- Explain work to customers and obtain approval.
- Ensure parts are available for jobs before dispatch.
- Track open work orders on scheduling system.
- Communicate with sales.
- Pre-sell suggested high-priority maintenance to customers proactively.
- Follow up with customers on future work.
- Maintain neat and clean service facilities & equipment.
- Read and ensure efficient movement of boats for rigging and pre-owned technician, haul-launch schedules.
- Maintain up-to-date information in the service library.
- Generate repair orders based on service bulletins for engines and boats.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Managerial confidence.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Team-oriented, self-motivated, and process-driven.
- Customer service or sales-related background preferred.
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license and U.S. citizenship.
- Dockmaster software knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to operate all equipment sold by the dealership.
- Ability to work an average of 40-50 hours per week, including Saturdays.
- Ability to walk and stand on your feet 8-10 hours, go up and down stairs, and lift 50 lbs.
