About the Role

Maine Veterinary Medical Center (MVMC) is a VECCS level two certified Rarebreed practice offering a full range of advanced veterinary services. Our facility includes in-house laboratory capabilities, a fluoroscopy suite for interventional procedures, a helical 16-slice CT, MRI, respiratory ventilator, in-house telemetric monitoring, ultrasound, and endoscopy. MVMC has well-staffed departments in Neurology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, Radiology, Rehab and Acupuncture, supported by a dedicated team of emergency clinicians and criticalists. We serve a well-educated client base and foster an innovative environment where specialists collaborate to deliver cutting-edge care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality oncology care to a diverse client base.
• Answer client questions, address concerns, and educate clients on their pet’s oncologic care, treatment options, and end-of-life care.
• Oversee and direct oncology medical standards and quality of care.
• Establish oncologic medical protocols in collaboration with DVM staff.
• Participate in ongoing education, seminars, and training as appropriate.
• Collaborate with the veterinary team (other specialists, ER department) and the referring veterinary community to ensure excellent patient care.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible Veterinary Oncologist.
• Must obtain a State of Maine Veterinary License.
