Credentialed Vet Tech-Oncology

About the role

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring extraordinary Oncology Veterinary Technicians for M-F day shifts. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, quick thinkers, and capable of multi-tasking. They should have good communication skills and compassion, with a minimum of two or more years' experience in a specialty veterinary hospital.

Responsibilities

• Treat and monitor patients
• Support clinicians with patient care and client communication
• Perform physical exams, including vital signs and lab parameters
• Administer chemotherapy agents safely and correctly
• Admit and discharge oncology patients, providing basic client education
• Maintain medical records and ensure proper documentation
• Assist with anesthesia and monitoring equipment
• Participate in continuing education and professional development

Requirements

• Minimum of two or more years' experience in a specialty veterinary hospital
• Current authorization to work in the U.S.
• Knowledge of chemotherapy administration and management
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and other veterinary professionals
• Basic understanding of veterinary medical terms and abbreviations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a veterinary technician program
• Current certification as a Veterinary Technician (VTS) preferred

Skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Proficiency in medical math and dosage calculations
• Knowledge of oncology-specific terminology and protocols
• Ability to handle stressful situations and emergencies
