Essential Functions
- Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBA), including ABC data analysis.
- Use evidence-based tools to determine the causes, patterns, and triggers of challenging behaviors, often in collaboration with multidisciplinary team.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized evidence-based behavior support plans.
- Utilize a Trauma Informed Care approach and empowerment.
- Utilize MANDT’s terminology and/or any other program identified and utilized by the state of Maryland.
- Ensure interventions prioritize least restrictive alternatives and positive behavioral support strategies.
- Monitor progress and revise plans based on data and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and regulatory requirements (e.g., DDA, OHCQ, Medicaid).
- Maintain timely documentation of behavior plans, progress notes, data tracking, and staff training and supervision.
- Provide training to employees, coordinators, and caregivers on behavior support strategies, data collection, and plan implementation.
- Develop systems for data collection, analysis, outcome tracking, and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyze trends and make programmatic recommendations.
- Provide ongoing consultation and support.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, families, caregivers, and coordinators of community services (CCS).
- Identify person-centered outcomes and align behavioral strategies accordingly.
- Support integration of communication strategies and adaptive skills development.
- Follow DDA and state regulations regarding human rights, BSP restrictions, and positive supports.
