BNA/CNA Training Class - August 2026

Qualifications

• Classroom Instruction: Each student is required to complete 36-40 hours of classroom work and pass all tests with a score of 80%.
• Clinical Practicum: Each student must complete 75 hours of supervised practicum in a long-term care facility, performing all required skills successfully. The first 16 hours are with the class instructor, and absence during this time results in dismissal from the program. After the initial 16 hours, the student may be assigned to work with a preceptor who assists with organization and time management. Both the preceptor and the instructor will evaluate the student's progress.
• Skills Checklists: All skills checklists (RCP’s) must be demonstrated and signed off during the clinicals by the clinical instructor or another licensed nursing professional. These must be submitted at the completion of the clinicals with all required skills completed.
• Daily Sign-In Record: A “clinical sign-in record” is provided to each student. This form must be completed by the student and signed by a qualified licensed professional on a daily basis, including the date, actual hours worked, signature of the student, and cosigned by the licensed supervisor.
• Background Checks: Students are required to pass a criminal background check, TB test, and physical examination before starting the course.
• Mandatory Attendance: Attendance to all classroom sessions is mandatory to meet program requirements set by the Indiana State Department of Health. Unsatisfactory performance or attendance issues may result in dismissal from the course/program.
• Dress Code: Students should check with the facility for details on the dress code requirements.

Additional Information

• Completion Certificate: Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a certificate of completion and a scheduled test date. Miller’s Merry Manor will pay for the required state exam if the student is hired and in good standing as an employee.
• Retake Policy: If a student does not pass the initial test, they may retake it and have it paid for by Miller’s a second time. If not employed, the student will receive their application and certificate of completion to schedule their own test at their own expense.
