BMT Transplant Coordinator 2 Nurse RN

Serves as a nursing resource in the care and coordination of pre-transplant, post-transplant, and cellular therapy patients. Responsible for clinical case management of adult and pediatric stem cell transplant and cellular therapy candidates from referral through treatment and follow-up. Coordinates the interdisciplinary care delivery system under the direction of the Medical Director and in collaboration with the broader transplant and cellular therapy team.

Functions as the primary liaison among patients, families, medical staff, referring physicians, donor agencies, insurance companies, and research partners. Applies advanced patient assessment skills and specialized knowledge in hematology, oncology, and cellular therapy to ensure safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care. Practices independently within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act and is accountable for providing direct patient care to a diverse population across the transplant and cellular therapy continuum.

Requirements

• At least one (1) year of recent clinical RN inpatient experience in an inpatient designated oncology unit
• Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction
• American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR
• Within three (3) years of hire, and every three (3) years thereafter, obtain Oncology Certification or 18 continued education units (CEUs) that are oncology specific in a three-year accreditation cycle to meet the Commission on Cancer 4.2 Standard on nursing education
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to utilize medical terminology appropriately

Preferred Qualifications

• OCN or TCTCN certification
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Case manager and telephone triage experience
• Ambulatory care experience
• Patient education experience
• Adult stem cell transplant coordination experience

Department Overview

Clinical personnel in the Malignant Hematology, Cellular Therapy, and Transplant (MHCTT) department at UC Davis Medical Center provide comprehensive care to adult and pediatric patients with a wide range of complex needs. Patient conditions include both oncology and non-oncology diagnoses such as malignant and benign hematologic disorders, solid tumors, endocrine and rheumatologic diseases, gastrointestinal and genetic conditions, autoimmune and renal disorders, and neurologic and pulmonary diseases, as well as other rare and complex conditions.

Pay

$89.59 - $124.35 per hour

Schedule

Full-time (100%), 8am-5pm. This position is hybrid (mix of on-site and remote work).
