About the Opportunity
The Claims Assistant supports Adjusters by managing various administrative tasks essential to the claims process. This role contributes to efficient claim handling by coordinating requests, documentation, and communication with providers and other stakeholders. It plays a key role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of claims, directly impacting service quality and operational flow.
Responsibilities
- Submit requests for medical records and coordination of benefits as needed
- Contact providers for additional treatment information and updates following appointments
- Follow up on receipt of lease/IC agreements and earned income
- Return voicemails for Adjusters
- Assist with bill status calls
- Request, review, and document police and ISO reports
- Request child support lien documentation
- Follow up on completed claim forms with independent contractors
- Review and document Claim Forms, SOAP notes, and MTPL
- Prepare and submit claim correspondence
- Upload documents for Adjusters on an urgent basis
- Assist with claim closure
- Process medical bills under $5,000 according to protocols
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Complete tasks within 5 business days of assigned due dates
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of administrative or office experience preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Completion of a pre-employment assessment
