Responsibilities

The Blow Line Operator is responsible for running all machines utilized in the production of PVC fittings and components in the Blow Line department. The Blow Line Operator will specifically run three pieces of equipment in simultaneous order: the PVC heater, the Blow mold, and the Finishing Saw. Daily communication regarding machine performance must be provided to the Blow Line Lead. Machine inspection is performed for accurate setup and safety. All product quality is the sole responsibility of the operator and must be communicated to the Quality Manager and/or the Blow Line Lead. The ultimate goal is to produce high-quality parts with minimum downtime in the safest and most economical manner.

  • Notify Lead of any shortages in consumable items required for departmental operation
  • Maintain accurate production records such that all raw material used and all finished goods produced in the department are accurately reported
  • Ensure safe operations of all machines
  • Clean work area daily and remove any unused tooling improperly stored in the work zone
  • Help identify incorrect raw material quantities in an effort to reduce production run shortages/overages
  • Proper set up and maintenance of equipment used in the department including safety inspection signoff forms
  • Seek improvements in production efficiencies
  • Remove full crate quantity of product out of production area properly labeled as to product and quantity
  • Monitor the quality of products produced and ensure that all initial products are approved by the Quality Manager
  • Understand and practice ADS CORE VALUES

The Blow Line Operator must be flexible to work 40+ hours per week and reports directly to the Blow Line Lead.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent
  • Some course work at a Technical School with a focus on industrial applications is a plus
  • Manufacturing experience in a production/shop floor environment (preferred)
  • Blow Mold experience is a plus

Skills

  • Knowledge of Blow Mold machines
  • Ability to communicate at different levels within the organization
  • Ability to lift product up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in a hot environment
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision
  • Work well under stress and pressure of a fast-paced production environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Mathematical skills
  • Able to work in a mechanical environment with hand tools and power tools

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift a maximum of 100 lbs
  • Ability to perform labor in extreme temperatures and temperature changes for long periods of time
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Position requires full range of body movement including lifting, twisting, bending, reaching, pulling, and pushing
  • Ability to mount and dismount industrial equipment
