About the role
The Marketing and Special Events Coordinator assists in executing Bloomingdale's Integrated Marketing campaigns through in-store events and activations. This role involves collaboration with internal store partners, vendor partners, and external community organizations to drive brand awareness and customer acquisition, positively impacting market share on a localized level. The Coordinator represents the Bloomingdale's brand professionally to enhance our reputation and promote business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Pursue localized opportunities in alignment with the Marketing and Special Events Senior Manager and store leadership to cultivate customers and build sales.
- Support local accelerated growth of priority businesses with event intensification that builds store animation and experience.
- Assist in planning and executing all aspects of in-store events and activations that support Central and local strategy.
- Track post-event results, share photos, and provide feedback to Central partners.
- Enhance Central event strategy by securing local sponsorships, co-branding opportunities, and community initiatives to build productive relationships, foster customer loyalty, and drive commerce.
- Partner with the Store Leadership team to create curated event experiences for Bloomingdale's top-spending Luxe, Unlocked, and Top of the List (TOL) clients.
- Collaborate with local client teams to monitor visit frequency, engagement, and spend as it relates to event participation.
- Work with the Central Earned Media team to enhance local media plans, secure publicity, and partner with brand-appropriate social media influencers and bloggers.
- Guide General Manager(s) on productive involvement in outside organizations and events.
- Leverage corporate philanthropy giving programs to maximize community impact and fundraising.
- Serve as the point person for external communication locally when needed.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of direct experience.
- Excellent communication skills, with a focus on keeping others informed, organization, attention to detail, and clear, concise presentation of information.
- Strong leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at multiple levels.
- Hybrid work model: 4 days in-store and 1 day remote.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the event calendar and company needs.
- Perform essential job functions such as communication, collaboration, and use of office/computer systems.
- Ability to access and review written and electronic information, move within the work environment, and interact with workplace materials.
