Blending Technician

About the role

The Blending Technician executes the delivery of daily blend requirements according to production schedules by manufacturing syrup batches from raw materials—water, sugar, and concentrate—while ensuring compliance with company quality-assurance specifications. This role also maintains blending and product-transfer equipment sanitation, receives concentrate and raw-ingredient purchase orders, and supports lab operations.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily blend requirements according to production schedules by manufacturing syrup batches from raw materials (water, sugar, concentrate) in compliance with quality-assurance specifications.
• Maintain blending equipment (mixers and syrup tanks) sanitation to ensure system-wide conformance to quality and sanitation standards.
• Receive concentrate and sugar shipments and record them in the inventory-management system.
• Maintain and calibrate lab equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.
• Maintain testing, sanitation, and equipment-calibration records; enter concentrate and sugar receipts into the Lab Data Management System (LDMS).

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Up to 12 months of relevant work experience.
• Ability to follow work instructions and adhere to standard operating procedures.
• Basic math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills and hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk the manufacturing floor, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced food-manufacturing environment with seasonal temperatures, flexible shifts, and weekend/holiday work based on business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of a laboratory environment and laboratory practices.
• Familiarity with High-Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC) technology.
• Basic microbial knowledge and aseptic techniques.
• Manufacturing experience.

Pay

$32.41 – $34.90 hourly, depending on experience.

Schedule

• Training: 1st shift, Monday – Friday for the first 3–4 months.
• Ongoing: Monday – Friday, 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm; weekends and holidays as needed by the business.

Work Environment

Noisy, wet, and subject to extreme temperatures.
