About the role

CBRE is seeking Commercial HVAC Engineers who can support a large industrial facility in Hutchinson, MN. The ideal candidate should have experience installing, repairing, adjusting, servicing, and maintaining electrical, steam, and chilled water systems. Responsibilities include inspecting and conducting maintenance on building HVAC equipment, fixing equipment failures, and mentoring others.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, adjust, service and maintain electrical, steam, and chilled water systems used for building HVAC/R systems and equipment, including calibration of related instruments, gauges, and control components.
  • Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure accurate operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
  • Fix equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
  • Mentor others and share in-depth knowledge of own job subject area and broad knowledge of several job fields within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Work with BMS routinely to supervise, adjust, and tackle building.
  • Diagnose and repair self-contained refrigeration equipment such as 4°C, -20°C, and -80°C units.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma, GED, or trade school diploma and 4-5 years of job-related experience.
  • Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Organizational skills with a sophisticated inquisitive attitude.

Qualifications

Highly skilled in handling HVAC systems, troubleshooting, and problem-solving. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required. Physical demands include the ability to lift and move heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and climb stairs.

Pay

The maximum salary for the Building Engineer HVAC-R position is $82,160 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience.

Schedule

Full-time position with 40-45 hours per week.
