About the role

The Role: The Reservation Book is responsible for accepting reservations, entering them accurately into the system, maintaining guest history files, inspecting menus, greeting guests, assigning seats, and ensuring the dining room is clean and well-maintained.

Responsibilities

• Maintains guest history files and enhances repeat guests' experiences.
• Maintains guest records to document arrival, cover counts, seat assignments, turnovers, and availability.
• Inspects menus for cleanliness and acceptability.
• Greets guests politely and professionally.
• Determines guest needs, verifies table availability, and assigns appropriate seating.
• Presents menus to guests and ensures removal of unnecessary place settings at occupied tables.
• Notifies servers of guest seating and communicates any special needs or requests.
• Assigns post-meal side work and inspects dining room and service areas to ensure completion of all tasks.
• Monitors dining room activity and assists servers and assistants as needed to maintain performance standards.
• Notifies appropriate individuals promptly and fully of problems and unusual matters.
• Promotes teamwork and provides assistance to guests, management, and fellow team members.
• Communicates effectively with servers and other staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Works flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

Requirements: A thorough understanding of restaurant terminology and food service techniques and sanitation standards, exceptional guest service skills, and strong management, leadership, communication, and organizational abilities are essential.
