Birthday Party Staff

Department: Center Staff • Location: Oak Square YMCA

About the role

Plan and facilitate birthday parties for children ages 3 and up at the YMCA branch.

Responsibilities

• Find out ahead of time the age and gender of the birthday child, and any requested activities (e.g., gym or sports games, parachute games, tag games, bounce house).
• Prepare to lead games and set up the party room by removing toys, arranging tables and chairs, inflating balloons, and hanging banners and streamers.
• Cheerfully greet guests as they arrive.
• Escort party attendees to the activity area and lead the pre-selected activity.
• Return to the party room to assist with birthday activities such as cake and presents.
• Clean up after the party, including returning tables, chairs, and toys to their proper places.
• Be consistently available to help and proactively offer assistance.

Requirements

• Must enjoy working with children and families in various YMCA settings, including the pool, gymnasium, and outdoor pool (seasonal).
• Understand the importance of parent and child satisfaction and commit to ensuring a positive experience at every party.
• Must be able to lift 15 lbs.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Must be upbeat, energetic, detail-oriented, and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
• Available to work weekends.
• Ability to manage tasks independently with minimal supervision after thorough training.

Pay

$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
