About the Role

The Project Pursuit Lead (PPL) is responsible for driving order growth by qualifying, developing, and securing capital project business. This position plays a critical role in building strong relationships with customers, channel partners, and internal teams to successfully position the organization for project wins. The PPL manages the project pipeline, identifies and develops opportunities, and ensures successful project execution through coordination of internal and external resources. The ideal candidate is highly organized, strategic, results-oriented, and capable of leading cross-functional teams to deliver tailored customer solutions and achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify capital project opportunities and develop pursuit strategies to drive pipeline growth and order intake.
  • Achieve assigned targets for project pipeline development and incoming orders.
  • Establish and maintain project pursuit action plans supported by cross-functional teams.
  • Lead pursuit efforts including strategy development, action plan creation, and execution.
  • Lead regular project meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with customers to identify opportunities and develop the best solutions to their project requirements.
  • Develop plans to position ITT’s solution with customer needs and project requirements.
  • Create project action plans utilizing internal and external resources.
  • Coordinate with internal functions including legal, procurement, engineering, and customer service.
  • Support commercial discussions to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Update Electronic Quote Log (EQL) system with current project information and status.
  • Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with channel partners and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with EPCs, OEMs, system integrators, and end users to drive project success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S.) from a four-year college or university, preferably in Engineering.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in complex sales within industries such as life sciences, chemical, oil and gas, semiconductor, or other major industrial markets.
  • Experience with capital project environments and familiarity with stakeholders such as EPCs, OEMs, system integrators, and plant or corporate engineering teams is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of complex sales processes, including opportunity qualification, strategy development, and execution.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to analyze customer needs, articulate solutions, and support collaborative decision-making.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Strong teamwork mindset with the ability to collaborate across functions and drive alignment.
  • Fluency in English (verbally and in writing).
  • Valid driver's license for a car.

Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering specifications, P&IDs, and technical documents.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Proficiency in word processing software, spreadsheets, and other business applications in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Ability to perform stakeholder analysis and act as a liaison across project entities.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • High level of self-motivation, accountability, and commitment to customer success.

Travel

The employee is required to spend a minimum of 50% of the time traveling in the territory by air and car for customer sales calls and support of distribution in strategic sales calls and/or technical seminars at end users, A/E firms, and OEMs.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to communicate, travel, and operate standard office equipment. Occasional lifting and movement of materials up to 25 pounds may be required.

Work Environment

This role operates in a combination of office, customer, and industrial environments. The noise level is typically moderate.

Pay

Equal Pay Act Range: $106,300.00 to $153,300.00 plus benefits and commission.
