About the role
The Biomedical Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting water treatment, medical, mechanical, and electrical systems within the clinic to ensure patient safety and optimal operational performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, testing, and disinfection of dialysis and water equipment following protocols.
- Conduct water quality testing, microbiology sampling, and safety checks on equipment.
- Assist with inventory management, purchasing, and supply stocking.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and support documentation.
- Address physical environment issues impacting safety, obtain repair quotes, and coordinate emergency repairs.
- Provide technical support and training to staff, promote team collaboration, and participate in meetings and continuing education.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Preferred experience in dialysis, hospital, or medical settings.
- Ability to react under stress, communicate effectively, and work independently or collaboratively.
- Ability to distinguish all primary colors.
