About the Role

The TRIMEDX Biomedical Engineering Intern gains on-the-job training by shadowing experienced clinical engineers, biomedical engineers, lab engineers, and radiology engineers under the close supervision of TRIMEDX management.

Responsibilities

• Understand the typical day of an engineer and how to work in a hospital environment
• Respond to service calls
• Learn how to balance workload, document repairs and Preventative Maintenance (PM) Work Orders, and manage vendors
• Learn how to calibrate equipment and troubleshoot various types of equipment
• Train on preventive maintenance procedures, electrical safety, and equipment repair
• Perform preventive maintenance procedures and inventory validation
• Work alongside experienced technicians in a real-time service environment
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an associate’s or technical degree program, or the TRIMEDX Trained Certification, or an equivalent biomedical-related certification program
• Experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening, including a limited background check and drug test
• Valid driver’s license required; variable travel requirements depending on primary site or region that may require use of a personal vehicle
