About the role

The Biomedical Equipment Technician at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is responsible for managing and maintaining critical medical devices to ensure they are functioning optimally. This includes performing preventative maintenance, completing equipment repairs, and ensuring all vital medical equipment is operational.

Responsibilities

  • Performs significant preventative maintenance/safety tests/calibration for equipment
  • Provides equipment repair throughout responsible area
  • Completes all necessary record keeping for work orders received and/or finished
  • Affords assistance in the ordering of parts and supplies necessary for servicing of equipment
  • Effectively communicates and partners with teammates and colleagues

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field- OR equivalent military education
  • OR graduate of a technical program
  • OR equivalent training validated through training certifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience servicing technical equipment
  • AZ Drivers License
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs

  • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET)
  • Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES)
  • Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES)
  • Certified Healthcare Technology Manager (CHTM)
