Biomed Technician

About the role

The BMET 2 maintains and repairs clinical equipment with minimal supervision, ensuring optimal performance through installation, calibration, preventive, and predictive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs biomedical devices
• Oversees department projects
• Mentors BMET 1 technicians
• Maintains inventory records
• Supports direct patient care equipment
• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of clinical, radiological, and network medical systems
• Effectively communicates device use and service solutions

Qualifications & Skills

• Requires certification such as CABT or CBET within one year
• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Solid understanding of clinical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Demonstrates troubleshooting skills, independence, and the ability to support complex medical equipment environments
