Biomed Tech

Responsibilities

• Inspect, calibrate, install, maintain, and repair a wide variety of clinical equipment.
• Collaborate with equipment users to resolve issues and communicate equipment status.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Keep complete records of all work performed.
• Assist the manager with equipment replacement recommendations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in biomedical electronics or related field, or a combination of relevant training and experience.

Skills

• Experience in troubleshooting and repair of a wide variety of biomedical equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and applicable codes and standards related to biomedical equipment and environments.
• Demonstrable skill in applying electric/electronic circuit theory and operating principles to diagnose biomedical equipment malfunctions.
• Proficiency in using advanced electronic test equipment.
• Knowledge of the theories of operation, underlying physiologic principles, and safe clinical application of biomedical equipment.
• Understanding of basic computer theory and skill in using computer systems and applications.
• Skill in using tools and materials for the repair and maintenance of biomedical and/or data equipment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications

Preferred: Certification by the International Certification Commission for Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Equipment Technicians.
