Responsibilities
- Inspect, calibrate, install, maintain, and repair a wide variety of clinical equipment.
- Collaborate with equipment users to resolve issues and communicate equipment status.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Keep complete records of all work performed.
- Assist the manager with equipment replacement recommendations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in biomedical electronics or related field, or a combination of relevant training and experience.
Skills
- Experience in troubleshooting and repair of a wide variety of biomedical equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical safety and applicable codes and standards related to biomedical equipment and environments.
- Demonstrable skill in applying electric/electronic circuit theory and operating principles to diagnose biomedical equipment malfunctions.
- Proficiency in using advanced electronic test equipment.
- Knowledge of the theories of operation, underlying physiologic principles, and safe clinical application of biomedical equipment.
- Understanding of basic computer theory and skill in using computer systems and applications.
- Skill in using tools and materials for the repair and maintenance of biomedical and/or data equipment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Qualifications
Preferred: Certification by the International Certification Commission for Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Equipment Technicians.
