About The Role
What if your years of graduate-level biology training could directly shape how AI reasons through the most complex problems in genetics, biotechnology, and bioinformatics? We're looking for Biology Specialists to help build and evaluate cutting-edge AI models — bringing the kind of scientific depth and rigor that only a true domain expert can provide. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers, postdocs, and scientists who want to contribute to something meaningful on their own schedule. No prior AI experience required — your biology expertise is what matters.
What You'll Do
- Develop, solve, and critically review advanced biology problems with real-world scientific relevance
- Apply your expertise in genetics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related fields to design complex, meaningful problem statements
- Evaluate AI-generated biological reasoning for scientific accuracy, depth, and clarity
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to strengthen model performance
- Ensure rigorous scientific standards across all deliverables — from problem framing to solution review
Who You Are
- Holds a Master's or PhD in Biology or a closely related field (Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, etc.)
- Fluent in Python or R — comfortable using code as a tool in research or analytical work
- Deep subject matter expertise in at least one of: genetics, biotechnology, or bioinformatics
- Exceptionally clear communicator — able to translate complex science into precise, well-structured written explanations
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and dependable when working independently
- Fluent in English
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data labeling, or AI evaluation workflows
- Background in computational biology or systems biology
- Experience writing for scientific publications, grant applications, or technical documentation
- Familiarity with AI or machine learning concepts as they relate to life sciences
Why Join Us
- Work on frontier AI projects alongside the world's leading research labs
- Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
- Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
- Put your graduate training to use in a high-impact, applied context outside traditional academia
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
