Biology Adjunct Faculty (in-person)

Job Summary

Owensboro Community and Technical College has openings for part-time Biology Adjunct Instructors to teach all levels of biology on campus. Assignment(s) will begin in the summer or fall semester. Common courses in which we are in need: BIO 112: Intro to Biology (Lecture) 3 hours, BIO 113: Intro to Biology (Lab) 2 hours.

Job Duties

• Plans and carries out instruction, instructional activities, and prepares learning materials for in-person courses.
• Provides instruction to students in the subject area.
• Prepares lesson plans (as needed) and maintains records and reports on student attainment, attendance, retention activities and progress.
• Utilizes approved online course template and syllabus format, maintains classroom order and discipline.
• Provides timely feedback to students

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline (Biology) or closely related subject matter.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience teaching online, in-person, or hybrid courses is preferred.
• Experience using Blackboard (or a similar learning management system as a delivery method for classes) is recommended.
• Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations is preferred.

• Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
