Biologist

About the Role

This is a temporary, onsite assignment lasting 6 months, focused on studying the basic principles of plant life and the effects of varying environmental and physical conditions on row crops (canola, corn, cotton, and soybeans) in greenhouses and growth chamber settings.

You will work under general supervision, performing a variety of tasks with a degree of creativity and latitude. The role requires standing for long periods, attention to detail, and the ability to work in elevated greenhouse temperatures during warmer months. Rotational weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Sowing, plant care, discarding, cleaning, transplanting, harvesting, and seed processing
• Daily duties will vary and include tasks related to greenhouse and growth chamber maintenance

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, biology, horticulture, or other life sciences
• Experience in controlled environments and growing plants (commercial greenhouse experience qualifies)
• Ability to stand for long periods and work in elevated temperatures
• Detail-oriented with flexibility for rotational weekend work

Pay

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
