At Smith+Nephew, we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. As a Biologics Account Manager, you will exceed sales quotas and grow the Sports Medicine Biologics business within your territory.

About the role

You will serve as a product consultant specializing in the Sports Medicine Biologics portfolio, focusing on both Biologics and Sports Medicine soft tissue injury repair. This role involves converting physicians and accounts through sales calls, providing clinical case coverage in the operating room, and training surgeons on Smith+Nephew products via education and programs in your territory.

You will collaborate with key orthopedic surgeons, hospital and OR staff, administrators, and clinicians, working cross-divisionally to increase awareness and adoption of the Sports Medicine Biologics product portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Convert physicians and accounts through sales calls and clinical case coverage in the operating room.
  • Train surgeons on Smith+Nephew products via education and programs.
  • Develop and execute an effective territory business plan to generate revenue and meet or exceed sales quotas.
  • Build positive relationships to enhance access to customers and provide data-driven, trusted solutions.
  • Work cross-divisionally to increase awareness and adoption of the Sports Medicine Biologics product portfolio.
  • Provide first-class technical support to ensure product availability meets customer and patient needs.
  • Collaborate with Smith+Nephew Reconstruction and Sports Medicine counterparts to discover sales opportunities.
  • Lead and mentor team members and new sales representatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of direct sales experience, with 4 years in the medical device industry preferred.
  • Experience selling technology and/or capital products to multiple call points in hospitals, including surgeons, nursing, administration, facilities, bio-med, and information systems.
  • Proven track record of selling or converting business at the surgeon or hospital level.
  • Proven success in achieving quota year over year.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to driving business forward through strategic responsibility.
  • Ability to become proficient in Sports Medicine surgical procedures.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel within the designated sales territory, with 1-3 overnights per week depending on geography.
  • Infrequent national travel for events and conferences.

All field sales professionals required to enter healthcare facilities must successfully complete the credentialing process and comply with facility requirements, which may include adherence to vaccine protocols.

Pay

The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $60,000 - $100,000 USD annually. The actual base pay will depend on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. Commission and incentives are also available based on performance against set targets.
