About the role

This position involves the preparation and characterization of biologically-derived materials for multifunctional applications. Duties include supporting synthetic biology and chemical synthesis workflows, purifying and characterizing biological materials, integrating these materials with matrices using material processing techniques, preparing samples for testing, and communicating findings through presentations and internal publications.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Materials Science, or related disciplines
  • Previous lab research experience preferred
  • Able to follow complex scientific instructions and learn new things quickly
  • Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills for interdisciplinary project teams
  • Ability to independently design and execute experiments; critical thinking/problem solving

Qualifications

  • Aptitude and experience in working independently and collaboratively with other team members

  • Strong aptitude for working with biological materials
  • Experience in material processing techniques
  • Excellent communication skills

Research in Biological and Biotechnology Sciences (BBS) encompasses synthetic biology, biological materials, biological/abiological interfaces, and biological effects.
