Key Responsibilities & Expected Outcomes
- Support inbound and outbound shipments of biological materials by verifying permits, declarations, and packaging requirements in accordance with applicable domestic and international regulations.
- Provide guidance on international shipping requirements for biological materials, working closely with the CDC shipping office to ensure compliance and timely execution.
- Ensure correct biological materials and viruses are packed in each shipment, complete all required shipping paperwork, and verify accuracy prior to release.
- Track shipments, maintain shipping records, and upload all required documentation into the VSDB shipping database to support audit readiness and traceability.
- Respond promptly to shipping requests, log and forward invoices for payment in a timely manner and support smooth coordination across internal and external stakeholders.

- Communicates effectively with internal teams, shipping offices, and external partners.
- Uses databases and tracking systems to log shipments and maintain organized records.
- Manages multiple shipping requests while meeting deadlines in a compliance-driven environment.
- Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard administrative or logistics tools.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in logistics coordination, shipping support, laboratory operations support, or a regulated environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting shipment of biological materials or regulated goods.
- Familiarity with international shipping regulations or work with government agencies.
- Experience using shipment tracking databases or document management systems.
Compensation & Work Environment
Salary Range: $55,000 - $70,000, dependent on experience.
Environment: Work will be performed in a professional office or operational support environment in coordination with laboratory and shipping personnel at the CDC Roybal Campus in Atlanta, Georgia.
