About the role
The Bioinformatics Core within the Division of Health Informatics in the Department of Pediatrics is seeking a full-time Bioinformatics Programmer/Analyst.
Responsibilities
- Support in designing, developing, and deploying robust bioinformatics workflows to support the analysis of high-throughput sequencing data generated from acute brain injury research.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
Requirements
- B.S. in bioinformatics, computational biology, biomedical engineering, or computer science is desirable.
- Previous knowledge in the use of high-performance computing cluster (Linux environment), and programming in R is required.
Qualifications
- Located at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Lawrenceville, PA.
- Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required prior to the start of employment.
- A current TB test will be required as a condition of employment.
