Bioinformatics Analyst - Health Informatics

About the role

The Bioinformatics Core within the Division of Health Informatics in the Department of Pediatrics is seeking a full-time Bioinformatics Programmer/Analyst.

Responsibilities

• Support in designing, developing, and deploying robust bioinformatics workflows to support the analysis of high-throughput sequencing data generated from acute brain injury research.
• Work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements

• B.S. in bioinformatics, computational biology, biomedical engineering, or computer science is desirable.
• Previous knowledge in the use of high-performance computing cluster (Linux environment), and programming in R is required.

Qualifications

• Located at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Lawrenceville, PA.
• Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required prior to the start of employment.
• A current TB test will be required as a condition of employment.

Benefits

• Flexible work schedule (M-F, 37.5 hours per week).

• $20.00 per hour.
