Responsibilities
- Develop creative approaches at the intersection of data collection, integration, and analysis.
- Work with a range of genomic, cellular, and clinical data types, adding statistical rigor to the experimental process.
- Collaborate with bench scientists and clinical researchers to generate insights into immune system function in health and disease.
- Leverage a combination of statistical, computational, and machine learning/AI-driven approaches to analyze complex, high-dimensional datasets.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in a modern programming language used in data science (e.g. R, Python, SAS, Matlab, Scala, Java).
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- The ability to work in both a collaborative environment and independently.
- Experience in the biological sciences and bioinformatic analysis of high-throughput “-omics” data is preferred but not required.
- Experience with machine learning and AI methods (e.g., clustering, classification, dimensionality reduction) preferred.
About the Role
Benaroya Research Institute (BRI) is an internationally recognized medical research institute and a leader in understanding and resolving immune-mediated diseases. We are committed to predicting, preventing, reversing, and curing diseases of the immune system, including type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, allergy, and asthma. We currently are recruiting for an outstanding data scientist to join our collaborative bioinformatics group.
