About the role

The Bioinformatician at Mayo Clinic functions as a bioinformatics collaborator who applies bioinformatics expertise to the design, implementation, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of research and clinical genomics studies. The role is supervised by a Senior Bioinformatician or Principal Bioinformatician.

Responsibilities

• Apply bioinformatics expertise to genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics data (omics technologies).
• Develop novel analytical tools as needed by projects.
• Manage time and documentation for projects.
• Participate in administrative duties such as tracking time and maintaining project documentation.
• This is a limited tenure position that may convert to a regular position.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in bioinformatics or a related field with emphasis on analytical omics expertise.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Expertise in informatics computing and data management packages.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and delegate tasks.
• Demonstrated success in project management and communication skills.
• A commitment to customer service with an attitude of ownership.

Pay and Schedule

• $85,467.20 - $128,252.80 per year.
• Full-time, Monday - Friday during business hours.
