Biogas PM Mechanic

California Bioenergy LLC (CalBio), founded in 2006, is one of the nation’s leading developers, owners, and operators of dairy digester projects. About the role

The Biogas PM Mechanic performs skilled maintenance on anaerobic digester conditioning skids, upgrader compressors, and related auxiliary equipment (digesters, pumps, gas blowers, compressors, oxygen generators, condensers, chillers). This role works with gas compression equipment to maintain, troubleshoot, and assist with preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive maintenance, and repairs on rotary screw and reciprocating air compressors and ancillary equipment (motors, trailered blowers, pumps, compressors, hp washers, chillers).
• Ensure all compressor preventive maintenance requirements are captured in CMMS and scheduled periodically.
• Complete all E-maintenance work orders properly and on time.
• Assist with troubleshooting for both high- and low-pressure compressors.
• Perform maintenance PMs and routine upkeep of assigned equipment (e.g., greasing motors, compressors, heat exchanger bearings).
• Maintain the lube program overall.
• Install and maintain industrial-sized gas and air compressors, motors, bearings, seals, pumps, dryers, chillers, and other mechanical components.
• Generate repair work orders to address deficiencies in field equipment.
• Align with Maintenance Planner to ensure critical spares and consumables are stocked to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Relevant maintenance and operating experience in an industrial or gas processing environment (or military experience/training in a related field).
• Background in safety procedures and practices.
• Able to respond quickly to rapidly changing conditions.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English, including mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Able to work with little or no supervision and complete duties in a timely manner.
• Proficient with hand tools and power tools.
• Fundamental proficiency in Windows-based applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) on a PC or tablet.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle in California.
• Willingness to travel, learn, and communicate effectively.

Working Conditions

• Industrial and agricultural work environments, primarily outdoors in California’s Central Valley.
• Temperatures range from 40°F in winter to 115°F in summer.
• Limited exposure to hazardous materials, toxic fumes, heat, noise, flammable materials, and rotating equipment.
• Requires use of approved personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Involves heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), climbing ladders, and stairs.

Pay

$32.00 to $40.00 per hour.
