Biochemist I/II - LEGENDplex

About the role

The Biochemist for the LEGENDplex™ Group at BioLegend will handle all aspects of product manufacturing, including planning, production, and testing of immunoassay components and kits. This role involves troubleshooting product quality issues, documenting and reviewing production batch records, and collaborating with the Product Development team to ensure smooth transfer of new products to Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture kit components, including antibody-bead coupling conjugations, antibody-biotin conjugation, and various formulations.
• Work with bottling, labeling, and storing components according to standard operating protocols.
• Perform in-process testing to ensure the quality of components and kits.
• Document, analyze, and review data.
• Manage inventory, plan, and execute scheduled production work-orders.
• Solve complex problems in practical ways, both within the department and with cross-functional teams.
• Exercise daily judgement within defined procedures to determine appropriate action.
• Assist with packaging and assembly functions during peak demand.
• Other projects or responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree with relevant experience OR a new graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field and 1+ years of relevant academic or professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of hands-on experience with immunoassays such as ELISA or other functional assays.
• One year of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Documentation Practice (GDP) experience.
• Working experience in a GMP industry and setting in compliance with ISO13485 standards.
• Good time management and planning skills.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Basic computer skills, with the ability to use Microsoft Office products.
• Must be organized, with the ability to learn, retain, and follow procedures, protocols, and instructions.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. Occasional exposure to a warehouse environment may occur. The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk, and hear.

Pay

The anticipated hourly pay range for this role is $20.00 – $33.50 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The base pay offered will reflect job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This range allows for progression and development within the position.
