Biochemist I/II - LEGENDplex

About the role

As the Biochemist for the LEGENDplex™ Group at BioLegend, you will oversee all aspects of product manufacturing, including planning, producing, and testing immunoassay components and kits. You will troubleshoot product quality issues, document and review production batch records, and collaborate with the Product Development team to ensure smooth transfer of new products from development to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture kit components, including antibody-bead coupling conjugations, antibody-biotin conjugation, and various formulations.
• Handle bottling, labeling, and storing components according to standard operating protocols.
• Perform in-process testing to ensure the quality of components and kits.
• Document, analyze, and review data.
• Manage inventory, plan, and execute scheduled production work-orders.
• Solve complex problems within the department and across cross-functional teams.
• Exercise daily judgement within defined procedures to determine appropriate action.
• Assist with packaging and assembly functions during peak demand.
• Other projects or responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree with relevant experience OR a new graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field and 1+ years of relevant academic or professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of hands-on experience with immunoassays such as ELISA or other functional assays.
• One year of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Documentation Practice (GDP) experience.
• Working experience in a GMP industry and setting in compliance with ISO13485 standards.
• Good time management and planning skills.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Basic computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office products as a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to learn, retain, and follow procedures, protocols, and instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This role primarily operates in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. There may be occasional exposure to a warehouse environment. The physical demands include:

• Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
• Frequent standing, talking, and hearing.
• Reaching with hands and arms.

Pay

The anticipated hourly pay range for this role is $20.00 – $33.50 per hour, depending on level (I or II), experience, qualifications, internal equity, and work location. The final offer will reflect job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
