Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide sample preparation and data acquisition support to members in the Bio-NMR group.
  • Prepare buffers, solvents, and samples with rigorous attention to purity, pH, and concentration specifications.
  • Help to maintain and operate our two NMR spectrometers, including 600 and 700 MHz Bruker systems.
  • Absorb and operate nephelometer, ITC, and other bioanalytical instruments.
  • Cook up laboratory housekeeping: inventory control of consumables, order supplies, and ensure chemical hygiene compliance to maintain a productive, organized lab environment.
  • Manage compound/protein receiving and delivery into the laboratory for testing.
  • Work within our quality system to maintain accurate records of all experimental details and results.
  • Oversee laboratory housekeeping: inventory control of consumables, order supplies, and ensure chemical hygiene compliance to maintain a productive, organized lab environment.
  • Coordinate ordering and restocking of laboratory consumables and reagents as needed.
  • Follows the guidelines set forth in by clients and the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality Manual and Safety / Chemical Hygiene Plan.
  • Report safety, instrument and technical issues to the appropriate contacts.

Skills & Proficiencies

  • Familiar with fluorescence, luminescence, and mass spectrometry-based assay
  • Written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively in a group setting, with colleagues and clients

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry or closely related field
  • Minimum of 1 year(s) of related experience
  • NMR experience a plus
