BIM Designer - MEP, DC Design Engineering

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, deliver, and operate AWS global infrastructure.
• Support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment.
• Collaborate with people across AWS to help deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
• Work on complex projects within a team environment.
• Provide support to our Central Engineering Team through the preparation of Electrical, telecom, and Security BIM models, construction documents, and leveraging BIM data.
• Design One-lines, Switchgear, UPS, Panelboards, Transformers, Power, Lighting, Lighting Control Systems, Grounding, Fire Alarm systems, Short Circuit and Arc Flash analysis, Cable tray and Cable pathways for Ethernet and Fiber systems.
• Prepare, maintain, and publish permit Electrical Engineering drawing sets for our fleet of Data Centers.
• Support in preparing and developing detailed Revit models of Electrical, Telecom, and Security building systems.
• Develop and publish construction documentation for Electrical/Telecom and Security building systems designs in a fast-paced environment to meet scheduled deliverables.
• Assist with creating and maintaining BIM templates and enforce BIM standards.
• Review consultants’ Security and ICT models, ensuring Information Models meet AWS standards and are following the Exchange Information Requirements (EIR).
• Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations.
• Assist the project team with information exchange processes between internal and external customers.
• Record and report of key metrics to management.
• Be positive and always offer creative, out of the box solutions.

Requirements

You will be a part of highly creative and efficient MEP BIM team, tasked with designing challenging and complex projects with innovative solutions for Amazon owned Data Center facilities. You will provide support to our Central Engineering Team through the preparation of Electrical, telecom, and Security BIM models, construction documents, and leveraging BIM data.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers.
• 3+ years of design/engineering of producing construction drawings for mission critical facilities.
• 2+ years consistent Revit and AutoCAD experience.

Skills

Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region.

Knowledge of commercial or industrial power systems or mechanical systems.

Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.

Experience using a variety of web-based and other software tools for calculation and data processing.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
