BIM Designer I-III
About the role
The BIM Designer I-III supports an evolving design and documentation workflow within Sherwood's landscape architecture, planning, and engineering practice. They collaborate across disciplines to support complex Rhino-to-Revit workflows, cloud-based BIM environments, and ongoing design coordination through the CD process.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of BIM standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Support the translation of evolving Rhino and computational geometry into coordinated Revit documentation.
- Cookordination geometry, metadata, and BIM structure between computational design workflows and production documentation requirements.
- Support consultant coordination, model exchange, IFC exports, and ACC publishing workflows.
- Assist in troubleshooting model performance, export issues, and interoperability challenges.
- Maintain model organization, view templates, worksets, and BIM standards across multidisciplinary project environments.
- Implement quality assurance standards to meet LOD expectations.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of work experience in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or architecture technology.
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Design, or closely related field.
- Experience supporting construction documentation production and drafting within multidisciplinary project environments.
- Proficiency in BIM, Rhino, Grasshopper, AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of Rhino and Rhino-to-Revit workflows, including geometry translation and model coordination strategies.
- Understanding of model structure, geometry abstraction, metadata organization, and BIM data coordination.
- Ability to troubleshoot model performance, geometry fragmentation, coordination conflicts, and export issues.
- Understanding of geometry optimization strategies for model performance.
- Ability to read and interpret project drawings, consultant models, technical documentation, and coordination correspondence.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with ACC or other cloud-based work-sharing environments.
- Experience in middle to large-scale projects.
- Experience with Civil3D, NavisWorks, Infrastructure Modeler, or other software.
- ASLA, AIA, and/or LEED AP certification.
- Experience preparing content and narrative for proposals and design competitions.
- Master’s or advanced/multi-disciplinary degrees are encouraged to apply.

Pay
A reasonable estimate of the current range is $73,000 to $118,000. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
