Billing Team Lead

About the role

The Billing Team Lead oversees and manages the billing operations of a company or department. They lead a team of billing associates to ensure accurate and timely invoicing, payment processing, and reconciliation. This role collaborates with other departments such as facilities and residents to resolve billing issues, implement process improvements, and ensure compliance with billing regulations and policies. The Billing Team Lead also provides training and guidance to team members and requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, along with a thorough understanding of billing systems and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Processes insurance claims and resolutions timely.
• Completes insurance verifications.
• Reconciles facility census changes.
• Answers billing phone calls and questions and follows up as necessary.
• Monitors daily workflow and adjusts schedules as needed.
• Collaborates with the Business Office Manager on providing documentation for audits.
• Partners with facilities, health care professionals, and billing staff to close unresolved billing issues.
• Assists the Business Office Manager and Billing Associates on end-of-month close activities.
• Assists with onboarding employees and special projects as needed.
• Supports location, departmental goals, and the overall objectives of the Company.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• CPHT certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently during working hours.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and all business associates outside of the health campus.
