Billing Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, motivate, and lead a team of 4 to 5 Billing Specialists and/or Assistants.
• Review and manage the unbilled amounts, A/R, and on-account balances of Billing Specialists.
• Identify and guide the resolution of issues, including personal assistance when needed.
• Inform the Billing Manager of issues and escalate as necessary.
• Evaluate Billing Assistants' readiness for assuming billing responsibilities.
• Meet regularly with Billing Assistants and Specialists for training and improvement.
• Ensure proper balancing and weighting of workloads among team members.
• Work with the Billing Management Team to identify and address competency gaps.
• Administer training programs and conduct performance evaluations.
• Manage WIP, A/R, and on-account inventories for assigned partners.
• Prepare and process legal invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Promote the Billing Department's service standards of excellence.
• Administer vacation and overtime for team members.

• Five years of law firm billing experience, with at least one year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with Aderant or Elite billing modules, with high-level experience preferred.
• Strong technology skills, including MS Office Suite.
