About the role

The Billing Specialist processes client invoices, including mailing or e-billing invoices, and provides customer service to both internal and external clients. Reporting to the Billing Manager/Billing Supervisor in the Finance Department, applications should be submitted by 45 days following the posted date.

Responsibilities

  • Process and produce client invoices (85%): Assist with monthly printing and stapling proformas, make attorney-edited changes in 3E, apply billable hour changes, process WIP write-downs, apply discounts, and e-bill through Thomson Elite eBILLINGHUB.
  • General and administrative tasks (15%): Review and update Attorney Hold accounts, Trust/Unallocated balances, and Billing Profiles; process check requests; scan and back up proformas to FileSite.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a professional environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of legal billing experience preferred.
  • Experience with Elite Legal Management, 3E, and Thomson Elite eBILLINGHUB software preferred.
  • Law firm or professional service industry experience preferred.

  • College or business school preferred.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $64,000 – $78,000. The salary range is based on a variety of factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

Schedule

Travel requirements are negligible. Must be available to work overtime and some weekends, especially during peak billing periods and during fiscal year-end.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This job operates in a professional office environment. The employee routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
