Billing Specialist
Billing Analyst
This role is ideal for someone who brings experience supporting billing and accounts receivable operations within the employee benefits or insurance industry and enjoys partnering with internal teams, clients, and brokers to resolve complex billing matters.
Responsibilities
- Process, reconcile, and maintain accurate billing transactions, including invoicing, premium payments, adjustments, reversals, delinquency activity, and suspense account transactions.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies and account issues by collaborating with clients, brokers, and internal business partners.
- Support accounts receivable activities through payment application, account balancing, reconciliation efforts, and collection-related follow-up.
- Prepare recurring billing documentation, premium reports, and financial records while ensuring compliance with established procedures and timelines.
- Identify process improvement opportunities, maintain accurate documentation, manage shared team communications, and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1-3+ years of billing, accounts receivable, accounting, financial operations, or related experience.
- Experience supporting billing and AR functions within an employee benefits administration environment, insurance carrier, or organization offering employee benefits products strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles, including debits, credits, reconciliations, and account balancing activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies, interpret financial information, and meet deadlines.
- Advanced communication and customer service skills, including experience supporting clients, brokers, employers, or internal stakeholders in a professional environment.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to quickly learn and navigate new business systems and billing platforms.
Pay
$18-$19/hr. (DOE)

Full-time, remote position.
