About the role
The Billing Specialist plays a crucial role in managing client invoices and supporting attorneys and legal staff. This position requires strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Edit prebills to facilitate time and disbursement transfers, time splits, on account transfers, time adjustments, and disbursement adjustments.
- Print, sort, and distribute prebills to billing attorneys for review.
- Create drafts and finalize computerized invoices for attorneys' approval.
- Maintain client billing addresses and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Enter exemptions and manage write-offs and monthly exemptions according to deadlines.
- Input and update alternate rates in the accounting system.
- Provide billing statistics and reports to attorneys and legal staff using Excel spreadsheets.
- Contact attorneys and legal support staff to address billing issues and ensure deadlines are met.
- Communicate with clients and internal departments to resolve billing inquiries and gather feedback.
- Participate in monthly check-in meetings with the billing manager to discuss progress and address any issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of law firm billing experience.
- Previous experience with Aderant/CMS systems is preferred.

Pay
$50,000.00 - $85,000.00 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
