Billing and Collection
- Receive, verify, and pay all bills and invoices for organization.
- Operate account payable software to record all vendor information, invoices, and payments.
- Compute rates for services rendered to complete billing documents.
- Review documents to compute fees or charges due.
- Prepare itemized monthly resident statements and record amounts due for services rendered.
- Verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors.
- Receive and record daily accounts receivable payments.
- Report deposit to required persons.
- Receive payments and post amounts paid to customer accounts.
- Record ancillary charges to resident’s accounts.
- Contact customers to obtain or relay account information.
- Answer resident or resident family inquiries regarding private, Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance billings.
Medicare, Medicaid, and Insurance Management
- Maintain filing system for records.
- Maintains accurate records for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies.
- Contact sources such as websites, manuals, or insurance company representatives to determine specific charges or information such as rules, regulations, benefit coverage, or government information.
Admissions, Discharges, and Transfers
- Admits, discharges or transfers residents on census driven system.
- Affords assistance in the evaluation and collection of outstanding charges and delinquent accounts, keeping Village receivables at appropriate collection rates.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain Resident Trust Fund according to established policies and procedures.
- Follow safety policies and procedures.
- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
Skills and Experience
- 3 years’ experience with Medicare, Medicaid and Third Party billing in Long Term Care.
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
- Proficient in database, spreadsheet, word processing software.
