Billing Specialist

Cullen and Dykman LLP is a full-service law firm founded in 1850. We are currently seeking a full-time Legal Billing Specialist to join our high-volume Billing Department in our Uniondale office.
What You’ll Do
- Process monthly and quarterly client billing invoices.
- Review client billing instructions to ensure full compliance with guidelines.
- Research and resolve billing issues; collaborate with partners, assistants, and billing staff to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Submit and monitor e-billed invoices; resolve discrepancies and rejected invoices promptly.
- Track delayed payments and follow up as needed.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred.
- 2+ years of relevant billing experience, required.
- Experience with legal billing systems and time & billing software is a plus.
- Knowledge of standard billing processes, including invoice formatting, timekeeper allocations, and paperless billing workflows.
- Experience with electronic billing platforms, including client/matter setup and time entry troubleshooting.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Able to work accurately and efficiently under time-sensitive deadlines.
- Prior experience in a law firm environment, highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of firm personnel and client contacts.
- Willingness to work extended hours during billing deadlines.
Compensation & Benefits
We offer a competitive salary, an excellent benefits package, and a collaborative, friendly environment. The salary range for this role is $55,000-$70,000. Actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
