Billing Rep
About the role
As a Billing Representative, you serve as a resource to CARE Clinic physicians, nurses, medical assistants, managers, and clinic staff in all insurance-related issues. You will handle day-to-day billing operations, including reviewing and processing patient accounts, insurance claims, and payment postings while ensuring accurate and timely billing, following up on denied claims, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Input charges for each office visit and procedures on a daily basis.
- Transmit charges daily and complete all edits identified by the clearinghouse.
- Print and mail all paper claims and prepare, print, and mail patient statements daily.
- Support accurate, complete, and consistent billing practices for quality healthcare data production.
- Post all insurance and patient payments and research and rebill denied and unpaid claims in a timely manner.
- Maintain patient financial charts, ensuring accurate insurance and income information, and audit patient charts.
- Enter all MediCal Waiver Program charges.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of job-related experience.
- Knowledge of Medicare and MediCal compliance and documentation standards for billing, CPT, and ICD-9 coding, including Physician Guidelines, medical terminology, anatomy, and disease processes.
- Demonstrable ability to use coding knowledge to make sound coding choices.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Two-year college degree.
- Preferred: Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based (CCS-P).

Pay
$25.66 - $30.50 per hour.
