About the role

Pinehurst Medical Clinic (PMC) is a locally owned and managed healthcare provider serving communities in Moore County, Lee County, Cumberland County, Chatham County, and the surrounding six counties. PMC offers a wide range of primary and specialty care services.

Responsibilities

  • Have a working knowledge of charge entry, payment posting, denial resolution, and registration processes.
  • Assist with document scanning and other duties as assigned.
  • Follow up on unpaid insurance claims as needed.
  • Provide assistance to patients regarding their accounts as needed.
  • Verify and ensure the accuracy and completeness of physician-generated charges before posting them into the billing system.
  • Register hospital charges from FirstHealth Hospitals, Central Carolina Hospital, and EKGs performed at Pinehurst Surgical Clinic.
  • Ensure each patient is identified in the PMC billing system by name, date of birth, and/or social security number.
  • Write account numbers on each hospital charge ticket and provide patient status and insurance information.
  • Scan charge tickets to shared folders for the Coding Team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to two years experience in a medical office setting preferred.

Schedule

The position is a Day Shift (Monday through Friday) with no weekends or holidays.

Pay

The pay type is hourly (non-exempt).
