About the Team

Lead a high-volume billing and revenue function within a large, established organization. Partner with accounting and finance leadership on billing, revenue, and financial reporting activities. Oversee a team responsible for significant billing transaction volume. Provide technical accounting guidance across the billing and revenue function. Work in an environment where accuracy, controls, and ownership are critical. Serve as the primary accounting resource for billing and revenue activities.

  • Own the billing and revenue accounting function and ensure accurate, timely processing.
  • Review and oversee billing activity and related accounting across the team.
  • Ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with ASC 606 and US GAAP.
  • Review accounting activity to ensure revenue is recorded in the appropriate period.
  • Oversee reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of related ledgers.
  • Review team members' work and provide technical accounting guidance.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate controls over billing and revenue processes.
  • Provide accounting oversight for the billing function and sign off on the accuracy of work performed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Accounting Manager, Billing Manager, Revenue Manager, or comparable experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting fundamentals.
  • Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition.
  • Experience overseeing billing and/or revenue accounting functions.
  • Experience reviewing reconciliations, journal activity, and financial data for accuracy.
  • Ability to review and guide the work of accounting and billing professionals.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and accountability.
